Queen Lumina in her hoard. Freehanded background, originally meant to practice her groomer monkey (who is too big). I drew the characters first, BAD ME. Also I LOVE HER STUPID HEAD it’s just a quick gesture from a taxidermy pic I had on my caveman phone.
Hope to paint this one later.
Inspired by WINGS OF FIRE, book 2.
OK, how come I spent two hours painting over a random sketch I drew months ago, but won’t invest the time in, oh, say, painting my own novel characters? Ah, well!
Dunno if I learned much here, but I sure *tried* a lot of new things.
I’ve drawn pages and pages of these and wasn’t going to scan any, but that upward-chin-lift…I couldn’t resist sharing it.
Aaaand this is why I should not be allowed to draw clothing without a lot of fashion reference.
Also: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :3
Doodle of some of the mains from my nosferatu novel: the prince, his mother, and his sister. I wanted to scale it so he could ride his mother’s head in a pinch, so I looked at motorcycles for size reference. *shrug!*
More playing around with dragons based on pelicans and gazelles/horses. Kinda fun!I tried not to do the wings always symmetrical…
You might have to click to see it huge-sized.
So for AAAGES I’ve been trying to render these dragons from my supernovel, which have bodies like pelicans but heads like gazelles/antelopes/elands/whatever.
Now I have 2 of these dragons as main characters in my Greatest Nosferatu Love Story of All Time novel. So I really gotta buckle down, you know?
Here are many attempts.
Been trying to draw a good pelican dragon for a while. One day I let me left hand have a go at it and I think this one came out really good. Lookit those teeny burdfeets! MOXIE STOP PHOTOBOMBING
